Job Description

AECOM is looking to hire an Overhead Contact System (OCS) Construction Manager for our NYC Transit Pracice. This unique and exciting position offers the opportunity to work in a developing practice with great growth opportunities. 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead technical interactions with clients, operators, and other major stakeholders
  • Specific responsibilities will include the full range of catenary design and analysis tasks, including support and wiring layouts and profiles, cross-section development, structural support design, equipment allocation, grounding and bonding, sectionalizing, and the development of basic design parameters.
  • Construction oversight, coordination of resources and stakeholders, coordination with engineers for designs & systems integration
  • Construction Engineering Support on infrastructure projects
  • Manage and deliver technical training of client staff. Support the authoring of project plan documents. Participate in the Requirements Management effort
  • Support cost estimates, project schedules and budgets. Perform technical review of other team members’ designs
  • Participate in project pursuit efforts
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior personnel as part of team development
  • Working with existing and potential clients to identify potential project
  • Participation in teaming and go/no-go decisions for potential projects

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor Degree + 12 years of relevant experience in design of Systems for rail and transit projects
  • Experience managing client project lifecycle phases including planning, engineering design, stakeholder management, bit negotiation, construction oversight, project management

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional Engineering License
  • 15 years of relevant experience in systems design for rail and transit projects
  • Experience in local NY Transit Projects
  • Experience with the design and construction of overhead electrification systems, preferably including a variety of project scopes and delivery phases ranging from preliminary design through construction
  • Experience in implementing a variety of overhead system types including auto-tensioned and fixed termination systems, simple catenary and single contact wire/trolley wire, as well as both AC and DC systems
