Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic, innovative Vice President, Total Rewards to join our rapidly scaling, privately held company as we continue our journey through a large scale digital transformation and growth strategy.  In this hybrid position, you will be based in the Phoenix AZ area and will work in the office 2-3 days per week while building a Total Rewards strategy that positions Achieve as a competitive player in today’s complex talent market. Leveraging your experience in mid-size organizations, you’ll lead, coach and develop a team of 6-8 people that supports across the enterprise working alongside leaders at every level from technology to sales to support and everything in between. The Vice President, Total Rewards reports to the EVP, Human Resources. You will continuously focus on refining and optimizing a best in class Total Rewards strategy that puts “people first”, drives business results, is aligned with our culture, and is understood and valued by our teammates. This is a very hands-on leadership role with high visibility at every level of the organization.

How you’ll contribute and make a meaningful impact:

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive strategy for Total Rewards using compelling and equitable compensation and benefits programs aimed at attracting and retaining world-class talent in a competitive environment across multiple functions and locations
  • Provide strategic leadership to ensure that our benefits strategy aligns with company values and will attract, engage and retain top talent for the organization, including evaluation, design, implementation, communication, and compliance for health & welfare, retirement, paid time-off, and disability plans
  • Provide strategic direction, planning, and requirements to execute the design, implementation, communication, and administration of the company's compensation programs; including annual short- and long-term incentives and executive compensation
  • Owns the end to end strategy and execution of our privately held equity program which includes extensive knowledge of all legal regulations and compliance requirements for administering this type of program. Develops all reporting and communications as well as the Compensation Committee and Board of Directors strategic updates regarding this program
  • Manage the effective communication of compensation, benefits and wellness programs to achieve employee awareness, engagement, understanding and appreciation of the programs offered
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of our rewards programs to ensure they are aligned with our business and talent strategies and monitor market trends to make recommendations for changes, as appropriate
  • Ensure all programs are administered in compliance with regulations nationally. This includes management of all compliance filings, reports, and audits related to the administration of employee compensation programs either directly or through vendor/partners
  • Serve as an integral partner to the HR Leadership Team to advise on programs impacting the organization as a whole and collaborate with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition to understand and address the unique needs of various client groups

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (HR, labor and employment relations, business administration etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 15+ years of relevant well-rounded work experience in Compensation and Benefits in medium sized organizations.
  • Experience evolving a Total Rewards function through early VC stages to late stage or IPO is highly preferred.
  • 5+ years in a strategic leadership position
  • Fintech or other consumer focused financial services industry experience is highly preferred.
  • A history of successful interaction and influence with all levels of stakeholders, including the Compensation Committee, CFO and other senior executives.
  • Experience in developing and analyzing cash incentive plans
  • Private company equity strategy and plan design development is a must
  • Comfort with benefits and insurance programs as well as health and wellness programs
  • Deep understanding of commission plans
  • Experience with 401(K) administration
  • Effective cross-functional communication in solving problems and addressing roadblocks
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, along with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask while managing deadlines, perform well under pressure, work independently and as a part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects to on-time completion with confidentiality and integrity
  • Ability to succeed in a collaborative environment
