Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Review and edit settlement agreements
  • Ensure that settlement agreements are in compliance with the firms policies
  • Obtain client signatures
  • Communicate with clients and answering questions pertaining to their case
  • Share executed copies of agreements with opposing counsel
  • Communicate with attorneys, non-attorneys, and clients on updated settlements
  • Upload documents to appropriate locations
  • Maintain settlement tracking database and monitor case progress
  • Monitor compliance deadlines and settlement requirements
  • Assist in drafting settlement-related correspondence
  • Maintain confidential settlement records and documentation
  • Participate in settlement conferences when required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 1+ years of paralegal experience, preferably working in a labor/employment litigation practice
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Experience with legal document management systems and case management software
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and settlement procedures
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Able to operate a multi-line phone, calculator, cell phone, copier, fax, scanner
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • We are looking for someone who is an ambitious hard worker willing to work and hit their monthly metrics
